I should be in bed, but I finished work on a project this evening (well, "finished" -- lots of work left to do, but the thing hangs together well enough) and I finally got the energy up to sort through some music and pick out a new title for my journal. I settled on a song I think I've used before, but it's just such a damn good song.

So, new title, new name, new lyrics in the header; all three come from Leave The Light On, by Chris Smither, who you can see performing it here:

He's a hell of a songsmith and musician, and you should check out his website if you're into the music.

Sometimes I think about changing my journal design or my default icon, but I've had them for six years and I'm a little set in my ways. Clearly the Octogenarian Lawyer colour scheme is working for me.

Aww, new year changes!

I must say, I feel like I'm a real café member now that I've been hanging around so long. There are still more senior members than me, but at least I get all the jokes :D My point being, of course, that I have fond memories of other changes.

It's a shame you're not directly affected by the things I change in my journal enough to need to wave a cane in the air at me and scream about those damn kids on your lawn...

OMG, when I saw the title I totally thought that it was a male cover of Beth Hart's song by the same name, which I LOVE.

But I like this. :)

I think this song was the first one that I saw you change your journal title to. Which, thank you, because it made me look up the song and the song is so totally wonderful. Definitely one of my favourites.

There's something about a new year that makes housekeeping seem pleasant, isn't there? I gave my blog a bit of name change/gadget redux, too.
