Sorry, I was writing the first comment under heavy medication. The idea was that "nemo" means "no one/no man" which is a name he (Captain Nemo) chose for himself to reflect his clean slate new life. The parallel would only work if Jack actually chose "no" as his name, not already had it. As I said, I was on drugs. :)

Well, I should have tumbled to that too -- I know that Nemo means no-one. :D I was just being thick too. HOORAY, we mutually fail to communicate!
