I have to say, a lot of where I learned about good presentations was from watching TED talks. Not all of them are perfect, but many of them are quite good, and that can be a good source for folks who need to see what good presentations LOOK LIKE. That helped me quite a lot.
I tend to write up my speaking notes as an outline - I did this in my public speaking class, and it worked very well.
Sam: I think you need to clarify this sentence: Just keep this in mind: don't read off your deck. Read the bullet point, and start talking. I would say "Read the bullet point in your head, and start talking." As is, I thought you meant read it out loud and then... wait, I'm already talking...
