Friday photo post!
This is the photo post of Grate Foodness. But first, icons!
Icons of the first scifi convention ever (arguably, possibly not). ICONS OF ICONS. And also some Penny Arcade, and a campaign to avoid pants.

I know it's not the year of the monkey, but the Boston MFA had these amazing Year Of The Monkey postcards on their website...

OWLZ.

I did not know what to do with these, so I put them here. The business card comes from GapingVoid.com, which is full of corporate comic amusement.

And now photos! Behind the cut are many embedded photos, so low-bandwith users beware!
So I went home to Texas for Christmas, where my mother had told me "I made five dozen cookies in your honour!"

Here are some of the five dozen.

She also made a Buche de Noel, but she didn't have any suitably rustic forest creatures, so she put frogs on it. Because why not?

We went out shopping a couple of times, and I'd like to know if you've ever seen a more brilliant and gaudy display of potatoes in your life.

BEST WHISK EVER

We went to the Asian Strip Mall, where the grocery store had an awesome fountain outside...

And gluten balls inside. BIG GLUTEN BALLS.

I was back in town in time for New Year's, where we played makeshift pictionary with paper that, as you can see, is about twenty years old. Yes, those ARE perforations for a gear-feed printer.

I also went to a party where someone came dressed as an Ent.

Aaand we're back to food. Dunkin Donuts has this thing, the pancake-wrapped sausage bite (on the right, there) and their hash browns have crack in them, I think, they're that addictive. You are looking at probably the most unhealthy breakfast I have ever eaten in my life, and I enjoyed every second of it.

Molly's Bakery has amazing caramel cupcakes and you can sit on an indoor swing to eat them!

A burger and fries at Burger Bar, om nom nom nom.

And finally,
amand_r sent me this screencap of a very peculiar error Ianto was causing on her computer...

Date: 2012-01-13 10:31 pm (UTC)Also, it's just a perspective trick that makes it look like the "Fresh Snacking" sign is hanging over the right end of the potato display, right? Because otherwise that's a very bad idea or they've got an amazing new kind of potato that I really want to try.

Date: 2012-01-14 05:14 am (UTC)Yeah, the Fresh Snacking sign was over a bunch of fruit, I think. But doesn't a Snack Potato sound like a wonderful thing? It would be all fluffy and sweet, like a cross between an apple and a twice-baked potato.
