I say this as someone who understands why masks, particularly eyeless ones, terrify people, and also as someone with a deep love of indigenous cave art in general. And at first I thought this painting was really engaging and interesting and dynamic. I kept it open because I thought it might be a good one to use in the little side-trip into cave art I just took in Jack&Ellis.
But the more I look at it, the more it appears to be staring back at me.
And some sadist somewhere thought that this would look nice framed and hanging in the living room.
