Eee, my first Dexter fic! I was just thinking yesterday what an fascinating addition Dexter is to the forensics shows airing now. I'm not surprised Grissom could pick up on Dexter's underlying creepiness and would find him an intriguing object of study. It also makes sense that Dexter would be, in his own way, impressed by Gil's methods. Oh yes, I like this very much. :)

If you know how to use Torrent, you don't need to -- you can download the episodes, generally a day or two after they air. I think right now Showtime is offering the first two episodes on their website, too. :)

Although I'm afraid I don't know too much about Dexter, living in the Philippines makes me a late recepient of cool new American tv shows.

I don't have a problem imagining Michael C. Hall as creepy (I'm a fan of his from Six Feet Under). Their forensics masterminds showdown dinner should prove to be a thrilling scenario. I like these mind-bending scares crime-solving tv can offer.

Oh, I really like this for both of them. I just got hooked on Dexter, got hooked on CSI ages ago, but this sounds right in every detail. That, I think, is exactly what Gil would think, and a great look at Dexter from that angle. The last line was perfect. Do you have any more anywhere?

This was tremendous and made me very very gleeful, and I'm so pleased that this idea was so well-written. I love that instant recognition. It's actually kinda interesting, thinking about it, because Grissom is very attentive to detail, but at the same time, he's very unobservant when it comes to social cues, rather like Dexter himself. Though, of course, it isn't identification on Gil's part, but rather the experience of all the years of encountering monsters. And it seems very in-character for Grissom to withhold judgement until he gathers more evidence. LOVE the last line. Loveloveloved it. I really really hope you write more.

Bush and the Republicans were not protecting us on 9-11, and we aren't a lot safer now. We may be more afraid due to george bush, but are we safer? Being fearful does not necessarily make one safer. Fear can cause people to hide and cower. What do you think? Why has bush turned our country from a country of hope and prosperity to a country of belligerence and fear.
Are we safer today than we were before?
The more people that the government puts in jails, the safer we are told to think we are. The real terrorists are wherever they are, but they aren't living in a country with bars on the windows. We are.

I just saw the first eight eps of "Dexter" on DVD this week, and I'm intrigued by the many xover fic possibilities "Dexter" offers. Grissom was the first character I thought of who has a similar dry, ironic voice.

Reading this, I remembered the ep a few years ago where Grissom says he financed his first body farm, back in college, by winning poker games. He has that same detached-observer relationship to the rest of humanity.

After all, you didn't learn anything about a crime scene unless you were standing in the middle of it.

What a great line to end on. Let me know if you write more about these two shows.

I just found this fic recced at Dexter_Fanfiction and I loved it! The only thing I can think would make it better is MORE! Please? A dinner scene echoing the food porn of the Dexter opening credits would be cool!
