GUYS, PAPER IS PRETTY AWESOME.

I didn't get to post origami last night because I was busy sharing My Very Important Thoughts On Writing and also eating all the garlic bread in the greater Chicago area. So I do have that to share, but first I wanted to share some links I've been compiling on the art of origami and of papercraft in general.

A bunch of people have linked me to Oritsunagumono, which fills me with covetous envy; I want some clear sheets with bones printed on them. I also want to see the exhibit, but I can't figure out where it is. Just guessing, but I think probably Japan somewhere.

[livejournal.com profile] lusse_kun linked me to some slightly more traditional origami, by Sipho Mabona, including an interview with the artist near the bottom. I love the koi; I want that fold, too. [livejournal.com profile] emyrldlady, meanwhile, linked me to Simon Schubert's work, which involves images made from creases, shadows, and light.

And then there's me and my sad little crown.

Well, it's fun, anyway.
