That was great and informative - it got me thinking quite much about writing itself. I do write fanfiction, even some fiction (not books worth yet) and your comment about practice (patience, commitment) are something I felt on my own skin - I liked to read, but I heated, really heated write essays in school, every time I had to do it, it was really a nightmare. With practice, enforced but still, I learned and moved from hating writing to really loving it. You mention also hard work - again I agree, even if you have "lightness" of writing, you have to check it, ask for beta, read it and sometimes write three more times. (And if you didn't notice the grammar errors or spelling - English is not my native language and I started to write fanfics in it). You're view for me is very universal, oh and now I need to go over my favorite books with some critical eye - let see what I can learn from it.
Btw. I started to read your fanfiction, moved to fiction and now to blog - I'm smitten, I love how you write and you're view on the world.
