Well, I'm going to Las Vegas. I understand somewhere on the way I may pass through Bat Country.

Much of today will involve sitting in various airports, watching movies on my tablet and eating dreadful airport food. It is kind of nice that we as a society have agreed that the time of day doesn't count in airports. Other people might have a margarita at nine in the morning to settle their nerves; I'm getting ice cream for breakfast.

See you all on the flip side. I was going to say "think of me fondly" but that is an actual facts lyric from the reason we are going to Vegas, which is to take my mother to see Phantom of the Opera.

It should be fun! There's a chandelier involved.

If I win a jillion dollars in Vegas I promise to become a jet-setting playboy and this blog will get much more interesting.

If only we believed you! If you won a jillion dollars you'd probably just buy more expensive ingredients for cooking experiments, like using a thousand dollar champagne to make a white wine sauce of something. :)

Have fun in Vegas!

If you become a jet-setting playboy, will we still get to hear of the exploits of Awkward Coworker?

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who's had ice cream for breakfast in an airport! It's an elite club.

Bat Country...jetsetting playboy...

Indeed, the future for the blog looks promising.

I was hoping that the sushi at O'Hare would be good. Haven't tried it yet. The Mediterranean place at the end of the B concourse is good.

Don't get smooshed by a chandelier!
And if you have a chance, put a fiver on an 8 on roulette for me and I'll pay you back next time I see you.

I saw Phantom in Dublin years ago - I really enjoyed it. I hope you guys have a blast!

Someone really needs to build a bat sanctuary just outside of Vegas called that...

I saw the version of Phantom that was playing at Montecasino in SA a while ago - because my violin teacher was in the orchestra - and it was really, really good. Hope you enjoy it! :)

Actually if you became a jetsetting playboy you'd probably be so busy having an interesting life that your posts would be few and far between. "Can't chat now, on my way to watch my camel race in the new Yukon Camel-mushing race I created. You should see them in their cute little knitted booties"
