Review time!

Someone had said something about linking these to a comm, but I can't find your comment now -- are you still interested? Send me an invite and I'll join up and crosslink the last few.

Also, although I myself am dubious about the activity, I'd like to mention http://www.sixsadnesses.com/ , which is an LJ discussion of what people consider their "sadnesses". While personally I think it's rather an exercise in inviting the emo to show their worst, Thalia has made an excellent case to me regarding her reasons for running it, and if you're interested you should certainly check it out and participate. The broader the cross-section the more balanced the research, after all. :)

And now on with the review! Spoilers for the book, though no major ones. The Professor and the Madman is a non-fiction accessible-scholarly work.

While doing the research for Peter Wimsey's collection of first-edition pornography, Em and I stumbled across The Erotica Bibliophile, a collection of historic visual erotica.

Clearly the enormous untapped potential for icons had to be considered.
