Sunday Photo Update!

Man, I haven't done one of these in ages :) Folks who've known me a long time will remember the Friday Photo Updates, which got their start during my summer in Boston. I used to do a weekly update back when I actually had anything interesting to take a photograph of. This is the first one since last August, which tells you how fascinating my life has been.

Anyway, each link takes you to an image in my gallery.

In honour of Easter, I bring you Peepcasso. Poor malformed boo.

Sky Fetish. Many will be unsurprised. Texas sky, en route to Houston from Austin.

This is a photo I took of the State Capitol Building, from a side-street where the Texas Book Festival was being held.

This is the round rock that Round Rock, Texas, is named after. While I live properly in Austin, we're about half a block from the dividing line between Austin and Round Rock.

A bum steer near Round Rock. :D

Some statues from the Umlauf Sculpture Garden, one of my favourite places in Texas.

A while back, in December, Austin had an overnight freeze that lasted long enough for some pretty interesting icicles to form.

Two views of the old Whole Foods Parking Garage. The store has now moved to a new flagship location, and we make pilgrimage there every few weeks for the best sandwiches in town.

Masks, from the Texas Book Festival, and also the Bon Appetit Cooking Tent from same. Objectively speaking, this book festival bites my ass.

[info]la_rainette, you might like to take a peek at the Chocolate Dipped Frog Cookies that Whole Foods sells....

But don't show your children the Scary Mafia Elf.

Meringues, and also scary salt and pepper shakers.

This is my dog, Dog, in his much beloved sweater. Why yes, he is actually the most adorable dog you've ever seen.

This is my dog, Dog, doing what he does for most of every day.

The neighbours' cat likes to sleep outside my window.

My mask workshop, at the moment -- it takes up all the free bathroom-counter space and one of the two sinks in the bathroom that adjoins my room on one end and my brother's room on the other. He hates me, but I haven't yet shoved his head into the wall, so he can stfu.

This is a roach I found in the bathroom. And that is a dime. PLZ NOTE the roach is twice the size of the dime.

This was my Easter gift this year, from the same people who make the Pirate Kite. I'll have photos of the Pirate Kite eventually. For now....well, nothing says Christ is Risen like a dragon with a five-foot wingspan.

This is Crowley. Or rather, this is Johnny Depp incompetently manipped to look like Crowley.

Because there were some questions about Mssr. E. Graveworthy recently, Judy and I went looking for an image of him. She pointed out that a young Donald Sutherland (oh, the irony) comes pretty close, and we found this image. This is pretty much as close to a portrait of a nonexistent literary alter ego as you are ever likely to get.

This guy has the best job ever.

I was watching some cartoon on my computer, ages ago, and happened to notice that one of the characters appears to have a very vested interest in human sexuality.

I...have no words. I suppose it's a good idea, but teen novels featuring SAT vocabulary seems like such a great way to turn kids off reading entirely.

I made a punk goth zombie jester from one of those "digital doll" websites. And I like it.

When I was reading the entire Hellblazer ouevre to date, I screencapped quite a bit, including every flashback he had. I assembled them into a spread portraying him from ages four through forty. You can also find this image adjusted and transformed into a wallpaper. Free for use. If you have a wide 1280x800 screen (like my Dell Inspiron 6000) you may be interested in these.
