Feb. 13th, 2007 09:28 pmIronically, the snow was the best thing about my day today (two feet in some areas and rising!)
I lost my railcard when I got off the El, and had to buy a temporary pass since I still had the bus to ride. I arrived early for my shift but didn't get breakfast, as my coworker didn't arrive at all and I was therefore the only one, including managers, there to perform the Ritual of Opening The Box Office And Turning Everything On. I got reamed by a patron and then again by my big boss for pissing off the patron. I know it's not personal with him, but I'd like to be able to tell him that he should sit in front of a mirror and practice saying "Are you okay?" before launching into a lecture on what we did wrong.
Then, one stop before mine on the way home, the El stalled for ten minutes while they fixed a door issue.
On the positive side, I have discovered the "Patternless Crossword" puzzle -- it's a normal crossword with clues, except the board you fill in has no numbers or blacked-out squares on it. It's awesome, and I completed one. One of my co-workers tells me she's afraid of my scary Mensa proclivities. It seems as though, to judge by Google, the Patterness Crossword is exclusive to the Sun-Times, which means I'm going to have to start buying the Sun-Times.
I'm beat. I'm going to make some toast and then lie down in bed and watch a movie.
