It hailed here last night, around about three am, and I woke up to the sound of loud pings! against the windows, which I had incorporated into a dream as being a new method of communication with people in other countries. I have a lot of dreams about communication, and I'm beginning to think maybe I have issues. :D

Anyway, when I walked out this morning, I found that the hail had "stuck", ie not melted. I've never encountered unmelted hail on the ground before, and it is made of awesome. It's like walking round on sugar all day long! It makes the most splendid crunching noises.

The only reason I ventured outside, however, was that I desperately needed three things:

1. Bread
2. Cough drops
3. Someone to kill me and put me out of my misery Sudafed.

I literally woke up this morning and thought I was dying or, failing that, actively bleeding every time I coughed. OW. So I bundled up tightly and did that thing you do, when you're sick and have to go somewhere, where you walk really slowly and try not to think about the Longest Block In The World that you have to walk to the end of before you can have your sweet, sweet cold medication.

But I have bread and medicine and a Cadbury's egg and also I bought a saucepan. Both of the saucepans I have are really big, and I wanted a small one because face it, when I'm heating up half a cup of alfredo sauce I just don't need a two-quart pan to do it in. Now I have a wee little saucepan that will probably melt if I ever put it on really high heat, but for two bucks you can't beat it, and it's the perfect size to heat up apple juice.

Mmm. Apple juice.
