Finally, I watched House, just in time for a new episode. SO, here's last week's Three Things About House MD.

Ironically, now I have to go houseclean.

1. That was unnecessarily gross, slimy, and obscure, as a whole. With the needles and him moving his head while the needle was in his head and I am putting you on warning, House MD. And you know what happened when Studio 60 got put on warning? IT GOT CANCELED. DON'T LET ME DOWN, HOUSE.

2. How can you not pee for three days. You would explode. Boom, pee everywhere. PEE EVERYWHERE. JUST LIKE THIS EPISODE WHAT THE HELL. omgcathetersomuchno.

3. Wait, did House just say he did Cuddy two years ago? And did Cuddy just say she's not interested after she was all OMG YOU LIKE ME a few episodes ago? How cool was House when he walked in on his ducklings having sex? And why did there have to be so much pee?

3a. It's not that I don't love House, but the episodes lately have been a bit lackluster, all told. It's hard to put a finger on how or why, but the increasing amounts of gore point to a deeper problem, you know? And while I'm always down with the April Fool's mind games, this episode was freakin' me out.
So. That was winter. Not as bad as I'd been warned it would be, but I will admit that I could have done without slipping on the ice and bashing up my knee, or the day I had to take a taxi to work. Otherwise I --

HEY WAIT YOU GUYS.

WHAT HAPPENED TO SPRING?

Two days ago I was still wearing my parka and today I almost didn't make granola because it's eighty degrees out. What gives?
*comes up gasping for air*

Just finished rewatching the last of the Heroes episodes. The timeline is now complete, or at least as complete as it can be, considering the "time jumps" that slip in -- points where something HAS to happen on a certain day, but something else in the same moment HAS to be happening on a different day. I'm particularly fond of the two telephone calls where someone dials a number and the telephone somewhere else rings the previous day.

Also, did you know you could drive to Montana from New York in less than eight hours?

Anyhow. I will post it eventually, once I've cleaned it up (read: taken it out of Sam Shorthand and plugged it into a table). It'll help, sort of, with the Hiatus Continuations, which is good, because I'm not certain I'll be writing Heroes once it goes back into regular play. It's too hard to write fic for a TV series; witness my abortive House/GA crossover, which was kilt ded by Meredith's mum a few episodes ago.

I'm still trying to get my goddamn head on straight. I did clean and do the dishes today, though. I even cleaned out the fridge and did some cooking. And applied for a design job working on Major Barbara, easily one of my favourite plays if not my absolute favourite. If I could travel in time, I would go back to the turn of the century and offer to take George Bernard Shaw to dinner.

Lying in bed, with the fan going and the window open and the room just slightly too warm, reminds me of summer in Boston. I like Chicago, but I still miss Boston. I miss my little flat with the anarcho-communist roommates and the bodega across the street and the Smack Talkin' Kids (tm) that hung out on our stoop. Reckon it didn't help that the Boston MFA sent me a flyer about the Edward Hopper exhibit they're putting on this summer. I love Hopper. On my first ever trip to Chicago, I saw two paintings that changed the way I looked at art: one was a Mondrian (Composition No 1 Gray-Red); the other was The Nighthawks.

BTW, I know it's Poetry Month and I've been wanting to post some poems, but I can't find the ones I really want to share. Does anyone have, or would anyone be willing to type up, a copy of WH Auden's "The Surgical Ward" and "Have a Good Time"?
