I'm home!
So, yes. Interview tomorrow. I have HOMEWORK for it tonight :D But I couldn't be happier. I doubt I'll get the job -- they flat out said I was at a disadvantage because I lack practical experience in the areas they're looking for -- but I will blow them away with my leet skillz and at the very least make an impression.
It never rains but it pours, either -- I ran into a fellow alum this evening and we grabbed dinner together, while he told me about life in Chicago Theatre (he's been here for years) and what it takes to build a rep. Wise words, and he promised to throw some jobs my way.
I told him, you know, don't think you have to, it's just nice to see you again, and he said..."Well, no offence, but it has nothing to do with us being alums -- you're a competent person and you should be working, because incompetence is rampant."
Which from him was high praise, and I definitely was not offended.
It was a long day in the box office and my turkey sandwich for dinner was not the freshest, or I would expound more upon my day. I'm going to go drink a bunch of water and lie down and read some Kipling instead. Soothing to the mind, Kipling.
