Whoever mentioned Mr. Clean Magic Erasers to me, you weren't whistling dixie. I hadn't truly had a use for them yet but this morning I thought I'd break one out and see if it would do any good cleaning the silver chain and Christopher pendant that mum lent me, since after wearing it while traveling it turned black because that's what I do to silver. Both medal and chain are now sparkly once more. Hooray!

I haven't swept my floor yet, but that's because it's COVERED IN BOXES. Well-near everything else is done, including laundry. I took out no less than seven bags of trash this morning. So much for leaving a minimal footprint.

I'll be staying with my parents in Deerfield (wtf Deerfield, apparently Morton Grove just wasn't quite inconvenient enough) so I won't have regular access again until Sunday night -- today we're resting, tomorrow we're showing Lucky Dad around the city, and then we're moving on Saturday and Sunday. R has given me the keys and vamoosed to a wedding of some sort.

When I came to Chicago I had one large suitcase and two small bags. Moving out of this flat, I have one large suitcase, two small bags, thirteen midsized boxes, and two laundry bags full of clothing.

WTF, you guys. I'll see you on Sunday if I don't die under a pile of fallen boxes first.
My parents have gotten into "fine dining" in the past few months, which I couldn't be happier about. Tonight we ate at Nick's Fishmarket Grill -- lobster bisque, filet mignon, parmesan-crusted tilapia, seasonal veggies, and mashed yukon gold potatoes. Not all me, of course -- I had the bisque and some crusty bread, Mum had the beef and Dad had the fish, but I sampled at will. Holy cow. I mean that. The beef was possibly a religious experience.

The hotel room does have internet, but we can only hook one computer into it so we hooked Mum's computer in. I won't have much access except when they're not using it. Fortunately they both have iPhones, which meant that when we got lost this afternoon I took a crash course in iNavigation. I'm a little wigged out by it. It works like something out of a dystopic future society where everyone has implants and nothing is ever well-lit.

And yet with all the delights of today, I don't think Mum's face lit up more than when I presented her with a packet of Biscoff cookies, which she apparently can't locate in Texas. We are simple people at heart. It's just our finances that are complicated.
Sam's three things is long overdue for more than one show, but I haven't managed to catch Heroes yet, and so...

Three Things about House MD )

3a. House MD is constantly skating along the very rim of the abyss that is shark-jumpage. And yet it still hasn't actually toppled over. I want whatever mojo the writers have.

Three Things about Grey's Anatomy )

3a. Wow. That was more than a little homoerotic. And if you've seen the episode, you know exactly what I'm talking about.
