Nov. 5th, 2007 06:41 pmI worked from nine to five today. And let me tell you, that's no way to make a living. :D
I was at the internship all day because I called in sick on Friday, and then I went down to the theatre where my show is going up to see the space and get all the info. I'm concerned; I don't have a shop or any tools in which to build this set, and while most of it doesn't have to be built, some key parts do need at least a radial arm saw and an electric screwdriver. Life may be a bit insane for a while, but hopefully not for too long. Most of the stuff I'm buying prefab -- it's weird to be doing a professional set with a budget that I may not even use all of. I really like the director though, and she's willing to work with the set we have rather than the set she wants, which is unusual and gratifying. I try to give Directors what they want, but sometimes they want Broadway sets on a Storefront budget.
It's getting cold here now, cold in earnest, and I was glad to get home tonight and light a fire and curl up under a blanket on the couch, where I suspect I shall be spending the rest of the evening. Getting the fire started was a bit of trouble this time round and I spent a long time staring at fire, so there's a big bright moving spot in the centre of my vision which is really annoying.
Jack and Ellis has been updated; there are historical real-life restaurants, frustratingly medieval chefs, and fake cherries galore. I was hoping to update a bit more this evening, but I don't think it's happening. I'm still on or ahead of schedule, so that's all right.
I am so damn tired, it's ridiculous.
