Nov. 7th, 2007 10:11 pmI had never seen R dance until tonight. He dances lke a little boy, swinging his elbows with his hands in his pockets. It utterly cracks me up. And you know what made my diffident, lazy-ass roommate dance?
Tina Turner.
I came in to the flat after rehearsal and he and his girlfriend were watching the Top Twenty Female Singers of the 80s and shoved a huge plate of chicken and potatoes in my face while dancing to Tina Turner. In all it's been a good day, despite minor annoyances of temporarily losing my keys and an extra-long staff meeting. I got to talk to a good friend and hang out with my roommate.
The one true bummer of the day is that I left my jumpdrive at work, with all my fic and Jack And Ellis on it. It's not a huge deal; I have backups, even, though they're from last night. I'm just a little concerned about leaving it there and someone else getting into it, or someone shoving a chair too forcefully and breaking the jumpdrive.
Still, I'm not too concerned, and I'm way ahead on Jack and Ellis, so it's okay if I don't work on it tonight or tomorrow morning. And everyone's gone from the flat now, so I have some quiet time.
R: Okay, I'm goin' out.
Me: Have fun. Preach the blues, brother!
R: Shit, I got no choice!
