Dec. 6th, 2007

I am home and safe! Mum fed me and we talked a bit and now she's working from home, so I'm let loose on the desktop computer. I'm playing a bunch of blues and jazz for her from R's youtube playlist. She's making him a mix CD for Christmas. Talk about weird.

They've landscaped since I was away, painted one of the bedrooms (which is now the sewing room and temporarily my bedroom -- my siblings and I are playing the most ridiculous game of Housing Roulette ever), and hung new blinds. Lucky's taste in decoration is suprisingly excellent, and the house looks great. It's weird not to have Dog around to sit on my feet and whine at me, but I've been gone a lot in the past few years so I don't miss him as much as my family obviously is.

I did get some writing done for J&E, which I'll be able to type up eventually. Ironically, I wrote the takeoff scene right as my airplane was taking off. It's so hard not to have a research tool at my fingertips -- I literally tore a world map out of SKYMALL to figure out their trajectory and now I have to find a poem to replace The Cremation Of Sam McGee in Clare's recitation repertoire because it wasn't written until 1907. He wasn't even born at the time this book takes place. Which is a shame, because Ellis really likes it.

Okay, hopefully I'm off to answer some comments because my inbox has seventy threads waiting. :D
