I realise this was the Golden Age of scifi, but surely even these people realise that a domestic robot with razor blades, can-openers, and FLAMETHROWERS built right in is a bad idea.

Also, for those who expressed interest, the documentary I quoted from a few entries back is entitled "LSD - The Beyond Within" and you can find part one here. It's posted in eight parts -- it says nine, but part nine is a repost of some of part eight. The quote, and the story that goes with it, is from part three.

I'm running to the post office and then an early shift at work today, but once I get home R's driving me down to the hotel near the airport. I'm staying there tonight, and will have internet this time which is nice. Tomorrow morning I fly home, and I'll be home until the 26th. Hopefully this mess with my family will be cleared up by then.

The job interview yesterday went well, as I've mentioned, and he expects to call me back for a second interview with some of the higher-ups. It's with a university office and it's benefits-eligible as well as being ridiculously well-paid. It's also full time, however, so if they offered it to me it would be a choice between the internship and the paid work, with the paid work having nothing at all to do, in any sense, with theatre.

I'm not going to worry about it unless they offer me the job, I've decided. Time enough then to brood on the existential crisis between money and art. :D

I'm thinking I should start up some kind of digital playscript library, which would be a huge help to people like me who need to acquire copies of scripts without paying for them. It's not that I don't want to pay for them, it's just that if we paid for every script we considered we'd go broke in a few weeks. :P We have to pay royalties anyway if we produce it; it behooves the playwrights to make their work more readily available. I might look into it as some kind of members-only one-time-dues thing...
