Jan. 9th, 2008 11:44 amI think I've got a little more mobility in my hand today, but typing hurts still so I probably won't be answering comments much. I read a comment and think AHA, THIS IS WHAT I WILL SAY and then I hit the spacebar and it's all over.
But I am reading them! And composing replies in my head! *MENTAL WHAMMY AT KEYBOARD*
*sighs*
There is a giant purple bruise just below the heel of my hand, but there's been no swelling at all, even yesterday, which in its own right might be a trifle worrying. I'm torn between keeping the hand active to keep the muscles from seizing up if it is a sprain, and keeping it immobile on the off-chance that my wrist is broken. I have to be at two meetings for work today but tomorrow I might go to the ER if this gets any worse.
I did manage to make gumbo this morning, mainly by using my left hand as a dead weight to hold the pot down while I stirred. Getting it from the cookpot to the slow-cooker was extra fun; I had to slide the pot one-handed off the burner and onto our counter, then drag it along the counter to the slow-cooker on the other side of the kitchen. Then I used a cup measure to spoon it all into the pot (well, the liner in the pot) until I could lift it one-handed and get the rest of the stuff in.
And now I'm going to sit on the couch and watch R channel-surf. Enjoy your left hands, people! You'll miss them when they're gone. :D
