It's Saturday Night, which means it's time for Sam's Three Things About Doctor Who!

Classics geeks, you shouldn't really watch this unless you can suspend a lot of disbelief. About, oh, everything.

Spoilers for Doctor Who 4.02: Fires of Pompeii )

3a. Oh Doctor. Why must you put everything in your mouth.
For a change of pace, today I have not gotten off the sofa. Not even when R put on some horrible movie about a juvenile delinquent who gets sent to a brutal prep school and Makes Friends.

His other favourite film is Fried Green Tomatoes which, while a perfectly acceptable movie in itself, says dark things about the psyche of my roommate. But hey, his handyman friend is fixing our sink for gratis, so I'm doing him the biggest favour I know how and staying the hell out of the way.

Plumbing Fixture Friend looked at my laptop, saw that an episode of SGA was open (shut up, punks) and immediately not only recognised the mid-season-two episode but extolled the virtues of season four, along with the awesomeness of SG-1 and the idiocy of the series finale, which was apparently two episodes strung together to make a movie.

If you need me I'll be hiding under the sofa cushions.
I forgot Poetry Month yesterday, so today I give you two, a long and a short on very similar themes. When I was going insane in Austin in 2005 I printed out Ulysses and taped it to the inside of my door the same day that I struck the deal with my parents to help me move to Chicago.

One equal-temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Sea Fever I just like because it has a pretty rhythm. :D

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
