Dear Economy,

Please consider yourself stimulated.

Love and kisses,

Sam Starbuck.

Unintentionally, I think I actually did buy things to stimulate all the senses today:

Touch: a haircut, since the super-swanky Supercuts I go to includes a scalp massage with a shampoo
Taste: groceries from Trader Joe's, including my favourite garlic aioli mustard
Hearing: new headphones for the iPhone, with neat adjustable earclips
Scent: fresh loose-leaf tea from Teavana, omg berry tea YES
Sight: took a taxicab home (the El was running weird) along Lake Shore Drive, the prettiest urban freeway in the country

I also got lunch at Wow Bao (mmmmmsteamedbuns) and some new shampoo and ventured into Water Tower Place for the first time ever. It's not the horrorshow I thought it would be, so that's nice.

I did not, however, get new shoes or clothes, the two main reasons I went out today in the first place. And, without getting new shoes or clothes, I managed to drop $150. I swear to god, I don't know how that happened. Except that Trader Joe's had maple syrup on sale and cheap Clif bars and you have to buy headphones with the right kind of jack for the iPhone and the smokin' hot Tea Girl kept showing me herbal teas that smelled like oranges and seriously. Garlic Aioli Mustard. One of five mustards in our fridge now (honey, dijon, deli, yellow, and Garlic Aioli). I might have a compulsion.
