Aug. 17th, 2008 03:20 pmI just stumbled across a file on my desktop marked "list" and opened it up; it was a list of all the things I had to do for buying a condo, and the relief as I deleted it was almost tangible. Now I just have to coordinate four incredibly flaky bluesmen to help me move and I'm more or less in the clear. It's like herding cats, only they can talk and play harmonica.
Wow, that's not at all some kind of fevered drug hallucination waiting to happen, is it?
Anyway. Yesterday aside from oreos and breadmaking I mostly rested and cleaned; today I've done some packing, and also played some Wii. Zelda: Twilight Princess is pretty much the perfect game for me; it's exactly the skill level I'm at, and it combines a minimum of action-fight-omg-flail with a lot of puzzles and problem-solving, which is what I prefer (point and click escape-the-house games are my favouritest ever). I will admit that I blanched at the latest Big Evil Villain Dude because after flailing for a while I checked the walkthrough for how to beat him and discovered that you had to shoot him in the head with an arrow, grab one of his chains on his legs and yank it while wearing the iron boots (which slow you down tremendously) and then beat him about the head once he'd fallen over -- and then repeat it twice more -- but in the end it proved not too difficult. I think I'm about halfway through the game.
R's gone to Indiana for the evening, and he's taken Sugar The Gassiest Dog In The World with him, so I have the place to myself tonight. There's not a whole hell of a lot more packing I can do at this point, so I'm going to watch telly and maybe order a pizza.
AND MAYBE NAP. *conks out* Afternoon naps are the best.
