I don't care how compulsive or organised you are. Everyone, when they move, reaches a point where they've got just this assortment of stuff sitting on a shelf or counter, and it all ends up in a plastic bag. If you're very lucky, it's a grocery bag and not a trash bag.

AND I HAVE REACHED THAT POINT.

Also, someday I am going to write a book called "Things I Forgot I Didn't Have" and here are some of the chapter headings:

Television
Radio
Trash cans
Saucepans
Measuring cups*
Laundry soap
Dish soap
Scrubby sponges
My sanity.

* I do have three liquid measuring cups which can also be used to measure dry ingredients, but kind of suck for the purpose.

I'm making three runs to the new place today -- made one already, to take over my dresser-to-be (collapsible folding unit) and the bathroom stuff. I'm making another at noon and a third sometime this evening. There are more boxes than I'd expected, and Monday evening may not be enough for them all considering we're moving them in R's car, which is slightly smaller than a minivan.

Still, we'll get it all done. I'm anticipating the first night I'll actually sleep in the new place will probably be Wednesday. I'm leaving town on Friday for a weekend in Toronto, which I scheduled before all this came up and which I am anticipating as my reward for not stabbing anyone in the past month and a half. I'm very much looking forward to it.

I found out why the Storyteller journal wasn't sending comment notifications, too -- somehow LJ de-validated my email address in that account, so I had to go back in and re-validate it. Weird.
I'm pretty sure I mentioned that Irish Super said I had a bug infestation in my flat that he had nearly wiped out but needed that final blow; he left me a can of ant-and-roach killer which I've been using regularly to spray the baseboards and take care of skittering small creatures who show up lovely against the hardwood floor. What I don't think I mentioned is that it is lemon-scented ant-and-roach killer.

CITRUSY DEATH IS MINE!
Man, it's a wild Saturday night on LJ. Like 2/3 of my flist are drunk or en route to drunk. R just bombed out of here like a fiend on his way to the blues club to do a gig, and I...

Well, I've scandalously turned the A/C down to 77, I've practically gone WILD!

And I am eating cheese and crackers because that's basically all the food left in the house. We also have honey-mustard dressing but I'm not sure that would go well with cheese and crackers. The rest has either been shifted over to the new place or fallen victim to the fact that, knowing I wasn't going to be here much longer, I have not bought groceries in a while.

Later on I might tape up some boxes!

Or I might get drunk too. It's a toss-up.
