Dec. 6th, 2008 09:05 amOH HOLY WHAT.
I love technology and I am fully prepared to get the internet implanted in my head and/or embrace our new robotic overlords, don't get me wrong. This robot is seriously and deeply cool, particularly that it can stabilise on its own (watch what it does when the dude kicks it). It looks like it's really happy to be trottin' along for the camera.
And yet at the same time it looks so much like two pairs of disembodied human legs that it's like one of those optical illusions where you have to refocus certain parts of your brain. I can see it as a cheerful running robot, or as a horrific automobile accident.
Living in the future is awesome, but also just a little unnerving at times.
