Jack, I think they're on to us.

Wily bloody Canadians, of all people! Tosh always did fancy the Mounties, and it showed in her programming. Should have put a patch on the program but I hate to speak ill of the dead, even in binary.

Maybe I can call that Fraser bloke with the RCMP, see if I can get some information out of him about what they know. Didn't you two used to swap creepy disembodied hand stories once in a while?

At least the China Redirect is working nicely, so that's something. Though I won't be best pleased if us blaming China for that program causes some kind of international incident.
ETA: And then magically it stopped.

LIVEJOURNAL I LOVE YOU BUT SOMETIMES YOU MAKE ME WANT TO PUNCH A WALL.

ETA II FOR ACTUAL CONTENT: Holy shit, it's snowing out.

I should read weather reports more often.

For the love of god, someone help me.

Something went haywire in my LJ preferences. I can't convince it to send me comment notifications in email without also sending a comment notification to my LJ Inbox, THE MOST USELESS PART OF LJ WHICH EXISTS, and I don't want it to do that!

But when I go to my Manage Comment Notifications page, the only way to say "notify me by email" is to check the "Notify me in my LJ Inbox" as well. If I don't check that, I don't get email notifications.

HELP. This used to work perfectly!
This snow is super weird.

As far as I can tell, the snow fell and froze on the trees, and then the wind kicked up. So now huge chunks of frozen snow are raining down on parked cars and anyone driving up our street. I'm just waiting for someone to get a spiderwebbed window, and SO glad I didn't schedule the Ikea run for today.

I have made lunches for the week, and bread is baking. All that's left to do domestically is make egg salad for sammiches and tidy the living room a bit.

BREAKING NEWS: R is back. In the WEEK he was in the Cayman Islands he:

-- Met a girl (shocking, except not) and got an invitation to visit her in Cuba
-- Found the blues bars
-- GOT A PAID GIG
-- Contemplated moving to the islands

And now he is here, eating pizza and watching basketball. :D
And then we spent four hours looking for his car keys.

R cleaned before he left, and he's incredibly paranoid about burglary so he also hid his laptop and his car keys. Somewhere no burglar would ever find them. Predictably, he then forgot where they were. The laptop was not that difficult, but he still hadn't found the keys when I left for home.

In the plus column today, I finally found a Chinese place that delivers to my flat and is halfway decent. I've been working my way through the locals on Grubhub and they're all terrible or not the kind of food I want or both. One of them sweetened the crab rangoon with powdered sugar. It sounds good in theory -- cream cheese and sugar fried in a wonton wrapper -- but then you add in the fish flavour of the imitation crab and the chives and/or celery and it's just offputting.

Resolved: THIS WEEK IS THE WEEK I DO NOT FAFF ABOUT POINTLESSLY.

That is all.
