Apr. 16th, 2009 11:25 amDear Accounting,
You are called "Accounting" because you handle "accounts" and "account" for the money we've spent. I am not in the accounting department, and therefore it is not MY job to, you know, do YOUR job for you. Because when I, who can't add properly, know what the rent on our space is and you, who have a college degree in adding, do not, THERE IS SOMETHING AMISS.
No, I don't know what a fiscal year is. Or how to calculate rent for one. THAT IS YOUR JOB.
Sorry to be so unhelpful, except where I'm not because it's not my JOB,
Sam

In much happier news, I AM GOING TO THE OPERA TONIGHT. I know, right? I've never seen an opera live! I'm going to leave work, go out for sushi for dinner, and then go see THE OPERA. It's all very exciting! There will be supertitles. I will have a full report for you when I get home.
I have reached the event horizon of Things To Do in my life: I no longer have "free time" as such, which would be more harrowing if I didn't love the stuff I was doing instead (reading, writing, GOING TO THE OPERA, etc). It's exciting times, it's good to be busy.
