May. 18th, 2009 11:33 amSo, I'm back from the doctor's with good news and bad news...
The good news is, they don't have to do surgery or put me in a cast or anything. I'm fine wearing the boot, and the doctor was pretty impressed with the decoration. I'll be back in three weeks to reassess.
The bad news is, I can't go camping this weekend :( He said I should stay off the leg as much as possible (he is Not Happy about me walking to work from the El) and he doesn't want me too far from good medical care if there are any complications. So I have to cancel, which is a huge bummer.
I showed off the boot to one of the temps, but perhaps didn't explain fully what I'd done -- I said "see, here are the buttons, and here are the locks down the side, and I have the key for the locks on the other" and he said "Damn, they make you lock the boot on your foot now?"
Coworker J, who I suspect of being a cosplayer and who actually knows what steampunk is, was suitably impressed...
