Jun. 1st, 2009 09:08 pmOkay, seriously, I'm not allowed to get sick. Not until Sunday, because we have a big shindig Friday and Saturday and it's the one weekend a year I have to work. So I have super-dosed myself with all kinds of immunity-increasing things like orange juice, and I am lying quietly and willing my body to produce masses of white blood cells.
Though I did get tons of stuff done on my To Do List today. Including re-setting the price on Nameless to $14 and uploading a personalised header to my storefront. I also have my one-month sales figures to share but I left the screencap at work so I'll post that tomorrow.
I've decided for my nexttrick original fic I'm going to work on the genderfuckery space opera, mainly because it's grabbing my interest. I'm not certain whether I'll write it and post when finished or post as I go, but probably the latter. I'm going to try to divide my time between that and the rewrite of Dead Isle, but I have to sit down with Dead Isle and figure out some things first. I'm still considering writing a sequel to Other People Can Smell You, too, as a handbook for life after higher education, entitled Your Sink Is Not A Dishwasher.
And of course there's fanfic to work on, especially since we're getting new Torchwood canon soon. There's been a lot of foofarah about dates, but BBC America says July 20th to start, so that's a pretty good at-the-latest.
For someone who doesn't get out much I have a pretty full calendar. Tomorrow I'm home for grocery delivery, Wednesday I'm at the chiropractor's, Thursday I might try to make it down to free night at the Art Institute Museum, Friday I'm at work until ten and then Saturday I'm at the event until six. Sunday I plan to collapse in a heap. I recommend collapsing; it's very theraputic.
Yesterday's Tribune Sunday Magazine had a directory of events going on this summer, so I'm researching which ones I can realistically attend and which are closest to public transit. I miss getting out and about; doing all this research reminds me of the summer I spent in Boston and all the awesome stuff I did there. I have deeply fond memories of seeing Treasure Planet at the Memorial Hatch Shell and attending a summer dragon festival in Chinatown. I'm going to give Taste of Chicago a miss (too many people, too much food poisoning) but there are a bunch of farmer's markets and stuff I'd like to go to. I love my city but I do miss out on most of what goes on here. :D
