I did not get enough sleep last night. Yargh, my head.

I'm glad I begged off going down to see Ratpacker do a piano show this evening. Begging off means I can go home and take a nap. Oh bliss.

Though I have to admit the reason I begged off was because Supernatural, the one really truly guilty pleasure I've had in ages, premieres tonight. I can justify NCIS and House and Torchwood and Doctor Who; there is no justification for some of the shit that Supernatural pulls. Eric Kripke is a brilliant arc-writer and when he puts energy into his characters they are fairly well-drawn, but he is crippled by some planet-sized issues. I suspect some are network-induced, but some stem from a place that Freud would have an absolute field-day with. Y SO SCARED OF LITTUL GURLS, E-KAY?

Anyway. Yes, I watch Supernatural, but I don't like that I watch Supernatural, and I still think Dean Winchester looks like a duck.

PeaPod also comes tonight! They are bringing me a cucumber to pickle. I am skeptical of this whole "home-pickled cucumbers are the best" concept, but as I already know commercially-produced pickles in general to be foul, I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt. They are also bringing me a pound of "vegan ground beef" which should be highly entertaining...
Okay. I'm still unsure what I'm going to do about posting Valet of Anize in segments, but as posting in whole chapters wasn't working, I may as well post the start of a chapter when I've got it. I have at least a little while to mull over what I'm going to do about the rest before I post it, as it isn't written yet. :D

The beginning of chapter five of The Valet of Anize is here. Carry discovers a hidden library, cooks a meal, and has an existential crisis.
