HR3017, The Employment Non-Discrimination Act or ENDA, would ban the firing and discrimination in hiring of individuals based on sexual orientation or gender identity, and it needs support. Vandy Beth Glenn does too: she was fired from her job with the Georgia legislature because she is a transwoman. This is legal in 38 states.

Bilrico's admittedly slightly melodramatic article
Glenn is testifying today in front of Congress about her experience and why ENDA should go forward. You can help by contacting your Congressman and sending them a letter of support for ENDA.
Find the name of your Congressman on the Committee on Education and Labor here. From that page you can click on their name and go through to their website, where their contact info is usually not hard to find. If you're outside the US but still want to speak out on this issue, feel free to crosspost, link here, or contact my Congressman and tell him I sent you. :D

The letter behind the cut is cribbed from the ENDA Facebook activism page. Feel free to use it or write your own. Thanks guys :)
