Oct. 3rd, 2009

Happy Saturday Morning, kids! A good Chu Suk to all our Koreans in the house, and happy Wiedervereinigungstag to Germans East and West. I am happy for reunification! Not because I am against Communism, but because I am against walls.

Today I am cleaning because 1) my flat is a sty and nobody should live this way, 2) winter is basically here and I want to make sure everything's shipshape before I can't open a window for five months, and 3) I have guests coming next weekend.

I did a momentous thing: I recycled a box. Not the recycling part, but the part where I threw a packing box away. I got rid of a box! Because I'm not moving for at least a year! Probably not even then! OUTSTANDING.

I am thinking outside of boxes.

Anyway. Take a moment today to honour your ancestors, to celebrate bananas, and to knock down some walls.
[livejournal.com profile] bluejeans07 and I are doing 24hour Comics Day. Timestamp our start at 12:40/2:40 Central and Pacific!

She will be doing the heavy lifting. :D
So, we're coming up on passing hour 5 of 24 Hour Comics Day for Jean and me. Jean's tooling right along, drawing like a mofo, and I am mostly hovering anxiously as writers often do. But I'm also running our PR!

The Winterbook

"The Winterbook" is the story of a woman who steps off the street one day and into Winter, a supernatural landscape of drifts and trees haunted by the Snow Queen, whose domain is darkness. In order to reach the Festival of Light, our heroine will have to travel across the open fields and defeat the Snow Queen -- but how?

Have a look below the cut, or check here, for our rough thumbnails.

In some cases, very rough.

First two pages and layout thumbnails: The Winterbook )
TWO PAGES UP!

I was going to put them behind a cut but they're effing HUGE so:

Page One!

Page Two!

And a bonus, part of a manip series I'm working on and nothing to do with the above:

"What happened to shagging, Harkness?"
Next two pages!

I'm especially proud of the exclamation point in page four. :D

Previously: Page One | Page Two

New:

Page Three!

Page Four!

Sorry about the size issue some of you encountered with 1 and 2 -- it's been fixed in both those and the two new pages. Shouldn't be any trouble from here out as long as I can remember to RESIZE. *facepalm*
SEVEN PAGES! MWAHAHAHA!

Previously: Page One | Page Two | Page Three | Page Four

New:

Page Five!

Pages 6 and 7, one single spread. OMG THE TREE.
