Thank you for your patience!
So, I think I figured out what happened yesterday in re: fire.

Somewhere, someone robbed a bank. The bank put in "dye packs" with the money. The thief escaped into the subway, where one of the dye packs exploded just south of the Grand station. Either during the explosion or as a result of the sparks the El's wheels often throw, the dye from the dye pack caught on fire.

That's my best theory, anyway.

And now, for some fanfic!

Condition Of Release 3/5
Poutine pizza.

Don't make me buy a plane ticket to Vancouver purely for a slice of pizza. Because I might do it, and that would just be tragic.

In other news, I just watched a guest walk face-first into our front door, under the mistaken assumption that it was a motion-detecting door. I offer this without comment, because if I give any other context it will make me look like a bad person.
Uh. And.

So then I made the Author Blog Awards shortlist.

You know. Me, and Paulo Coelho. And Neil Gaiman. And two dozen other people who have their lives way more together than I do. Or at any rate are better at faking it.

I'm confused and pleased and kind of terrified, by turns. Mostly confused. It's run by CompletelyNovel, which is a self-publishing company and, despite being self-published myself, that always makes me slightly wary. On the other hand, the competition seems to have had good press.

Anyway, um, thank you guys for nominating the hell out of me to get me there, and if you'd like to vote the hell out of me you should definitely feel free. Or not! Apathy has got me this far, so I can't really recommend against it...

This has been a very strange week and it's only Wednesday.
I am home, and I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that nothing at all was on fire today. This could be attributed to the fact that despite my installing my AC unit and thus declaring NO TAGBACKS on winter, it has rained all the god damned day today.

But there is NCIS!

Sam's Three Things About NCIS, Episode 7.19: Guilty Pleasure )

3a. The ending snapshot was the saddest snapshot ever. Both times. How is it that Mark Harmon is like fifty years old and still he looks five in a hoodie?
