Apr. 25th, 2010 04:36 pmThe construction workers are still here, or rather they were here earlier and left all their stuff here, which means my fire escape is still obstructed. PRAY FOR NO FIRE.
They're "pointing" the facade, which means they're doing something to the mortar of the brickwork that involves grinding it down. Mortar dust is everywhere. The end result looks fantastic, but I do think our super might have waited to shampoo the hallway carpets until after they were done, instead of just-before.
Anyway, given that I couldn't do what I was planning to do today, I cooked instead. I made peanut butter cake and also fig jam, so I smell faintly like a sandwich.
