Jun. 9th, 2010 07:40 amThere's an ad campaign on the El lately by an apartment-resource website called Domu, which runs ads like "My roommate has really bad aim. Time to find a new apartment."
They're reasonably amusing if you have nothing better to do on the train, but this morning I encountered one of the more common ads:
"Close to the El" shouldn't be measured in inches.
Some clever bastard had crossed out "Close to the El" and written in underneath it, My cock.
I LOLed right there on the train. It was the slow revelation of "Why is that crossed out?" and "What's written underneath it?" and "Ohh, but what does that -- " and then there was a LOL.
Not a bad way to start the day!
In other news, Lulu.com has let me know that if you use the code SUMMERREAD305 when you check out, you can get 10% off on Other People Can Smell You, my college guide for the masses. I'm just passin' it on. It might work on other books too, I dunno, but by all means have fun finding out. :)
