Sep. 10th, 2010 08:18 amI went to The Outside last night. It's a perilous place!
R, that punk, texted me to remind me that he had his karaoke gig that I try to attend when I can, though I haven't made it the last two weeks due to bronchitis. So I said I'd be there, and I went out, and when I got there he had DITCHED US for another gig, and the Ratpacker (note: because he likes the Rat Pack, not because he packs rats) was subbing in for him. Not that I mind hanging out with the Ratpacker, we have a lot in common, but it's hard to drag my ass out to a bar to see R and then not see R. Plus Ratpacker is a terrible emcee.
I did get to see Jack again though, he of the infamous Pagliacci On The Harmonica, and he played Moon River and Begin the Beguine and Rhapsody in Blue on the Chromatic. I tried to record a bit of it with my phone; if it came out all right I'll post it for you all to enjoy.
R can't have a copy, though. Punk.
