Oct. 3rd, 2010 11:08 amA wealth of stuff for you this morning!
I have not one but two podfics of Paper Chase to share; Pandarus (who did the lovely recordings of Lab Book and It's Not The Violin) teamed up with Lunate8 to do a transatlantic reading, switching back and forth as various points of view came into play. You can find the download links here for both mp3 and m4b.
And Lu recorded this version as a birthday gift. Interesting to hear the variations between the readings; I <3 them both.
I think I found this through GetKempt; either way, check out some fascinating photography of the construction of the Statue of Liberty (and quite an interesting essay, too). I love the shot of the half-built body, the head and torch-arm resting hearby, towering over the workshops and construction supplies. What must it have been like to walk to work every day under the eyes of Liberty? (You can see, for scale, a man standing in the road near Liberty's foot.)
In other news, I've been watching Eureka, off and on, for a couple of months, and I'm almost caught up to season four.
( Eureka, and why firing people is fun. )
OH HEY, also, can anyone explain to me why we saw Jack and Tess doing the hologram thing in "previously on" at the start of season four, and yet that never...actually...was previously on the show? Was there a special or a webcast or something that I missed?
