ESCALATED.

So I finally heard back from A Member Of The Delicious Customer Care Team (incidentally, zie's name was "Sky").

Here is my original complaint: I suspect this is the result of the recent update, but when bookmarking a site I now no longer see any of my tags, only the "recommended" tags. Is there a way to set it up so I can see my tags again when I have a "bookmark this site" window open? It's pretty inconvenient not to be able to select from my tags when bookmarking a site.

I admit it's a little snide. I sort of feel like removing the tags option is intended to make everyone tag stuff the same way. But you will note I did, in fact, ask a question: Is there a way to make my tags visible again? I just meant in the "is there a tickeybox I'm missing somewhere?" sense, honestly, but apparently they thought I meant "can you please fix this, you giant box of dicks".

The response I got:
Thank you for writing to Delicious. We appreciate every comment and suggestion that you can provide to us about our products and services. We are continually working to make Delicious the best social bookmarking site and take our users' feedback into account when developing new features. I appreciate your feedback and have forwarded a copy of your email to our product team. Thank you again for writing to Delicious.

Where do I start with the lols. So I guess the answer to my actual truefax question is no, huh? Wait, okay, it's really "No, thank you."

Also, Delicious is the only social bookmarking site of its kind. Believe me, I have looked. It is therefore already the best, PLEASE STOP IMPROVING IT. IT WORKS JUST FINE. I get that sometimes infrastructure needs reworking in order to support user demand, but I'm pretty sure adding flashy inline popups when I want to delete a bookmark aren't an infrastructure improvement.

I don't get why they're spending any time on Delicious anyway. It has no ads, it can't be generating any revenue. What's the deal?

It's snowing in Chicago! By tradition, I share with you the best earworm of winter.

(Thanks [livejournal.com profile] insixeighttime for finding me a new clip after the other one got TOSed!)
A few years ago I asked the Cafe to give me words they found interesting or attractive or strange, and I turned them into Christmas ornaments for the literary-minded. I can't find the original post, but I'm sure the download links have expired anyway, so I thought I'd repost.

Christmas Ornaments!

Probably the best way to assemble these is to glue the sheets to construction paper (rubber cement or spray-adhesive work best) and then cut them out, so that they're stiff and have pretty colours on the back. There are a few garlands in there too, which you can put together with little loops of string or bent paperclips.

Have fun! And if you make 'em and hang 'em up, Christmas Tree or otherwise, send me a picture!
