BossBoss just walked up to my desk to check in before leaving for an offsite meeting, and I said "I like your tie". Which I did, it had little circles and logos on it. And he said, "This is the best tie ever. Want to see why?"

He took it out of his jacket and showed me the wide end, then flipped it over to show me the reverse, where the phrase "REMOVE BEFORE SEX" was printed. I started LOLing and then he showed me the reverse of the narrow end, on which was printed the legend, "OR KNOT!"

Best tie ever.

(Unfortunately they're not available for purchase -- it was a promotional tie handed out by a company called Dirtt, which looks absolutely lovely in its own right but does not sell neckties. Dammit. Not even under the Accessories page!)
Celebrity among us!

I was reading Penny Arcade yesterday, which I don't do with regularity but once in a while I pop by -- and found the following news post where they honour "tehNakki" for building the best Minecraft sculpture at PAX this past weekend.

And I thought, I only know one Nakki...

Sure enough, one of our Cafe, [livejournal.com profile] nakki, confirmed it was her and has some awesome Minecraft screencaps up. The original Twisp&Catsby strip is one of my favourite PA strips ever, equal parts lolstalgia and the swipe it takes at Kevin Smith. Thought I'd share Nakki's triumph with the Cafe :)
IT HAS BEEN AN EVENING.

But I did (finally) manage to get my hair cut, and I got my books from the library without getting the fish-eye for checking out two books on crime and one book on leadership skills. I didn't want to push my luck and inquire about my origami book.

Today's origami was not necessarily what I'd planned, but [livejournal.com profile] tig_b linked me to a World Wildlife Federation webpage about the Spectacled Bear, complete with "Fold your own Spectacled Bear!" and said if I folded the bear then she'd donate to help protect the Spectacled Bear's forest home.

Always willing to do a bear a good turn, not to mention keep them in the forest where they belong, I thought sure, why not? Mind you, that folding video is hilariously long; around the SEVEN MINUTE mark, when we still had mostly just creased stuff, I started wishing for a nice simple diagram. But I folded a bear, and I think he looks pretty good.

I will admit that the above is the photo of his "good side". His "bad side" is what happens when you try to make his ears perkier and accidentally pull one off.

This is why bears and city folk shouldn't mix.

I have no effing clue how to post this to their Facebook page, despite several minutes of looking, but posting here has to count for something, right?
