May. 8th, 2011 01:45 pmI was going to post a good morning and Happy Mother's Day this morning, but the internet was out, so here it is now: Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers on the internet. And all the children...which...I guess is everyone. Have a nice Sunday!
I gave Mum a gift bag with a necklace and pair of earrings in it. I happened to come across an origami "bow" fold on Friday, so I folded a bow for her and put it on the bag. My hand to god, she really likes the jewelery but I think she likes the bow even more. She very carefully packed it in a little box to take home with her.
Emmy, who is more in tune with Mum's current interests, got her a water bottle with a built-in filter and a Wii game.
For lunch we had the kind of meal that people refer to as A REVELATION. Seriously, I thought Weber Grill was good, McCormick&Schmick's Seafood Restaurant radically redefines good food. WALNUT CRUSTED DOVER SOLE. Oh my lord, apparently I do like cooked fish if it's walnut crusted dover sole. (Also, again, really good service -- we've been lucky this trip to have such consistently great service. I think it's because there's a restauranteur's convention in town.)
Then we walked all over Michigan Avenue and swore under our breaths at all the slow-walking assholes blocking the pavement. It was awesome.
AND NOW MORE BOLLYWOOD.
