MY ORIGAMI CARRIES GERMS. BEWARE.

This week was a bit weird because the Origami Calendar tried to pull a fast one. More on that in a minute. In the meantime, this is an interesting but kind of unstable rose:

Seriously. Held together by hope and internal tension.

And Now The Tale Of The Masu Box. )
I keep trying to make posts and then failing to do so for lack of functionality. Everything hurts. I'm supposed to be taking three of these cough suppressant things a day, but they wear off really fast, so to date I've taken four and will take another before bed. Granted, I took the first at one in the morning, so I think I'm doing ok.

PHOTO POST OMG

Three weeks ago I was walking along Walton, in the Near North, when I spotted some dudes hauling huge bags of something out of a truck and dumping them in front of a sporting goods store. It turned out as a promotion for its winter ski gear, Burton was covering its storefront in fake snow. It was eighty degrees out when this photo was taken.

Mum keeps sending me kits for making monkeys, I don't know why. I finally finished the sock monkey, the saddest sock monkey ever. One of his ears is upside down, but I'm not sure which one, and one of his arms is significantly longer than the other one. I don't understand the allure of these things but at least he's done now.

I feel weird taking a picture of my orchid at work, but fortunately one of my co-workers felt no such compunction.

WRIGLEY FIELD. This is shot from essentially behind third plate, facing the bleachers. What you're seeing there is the outfield wall and bleachers, and then behind them more seating built on top of the residential housing across the street. You can also, if you look just to the right of the Miller Lite billboard, see a sliver of the Red Line el tracks.

I think this is the saddest Nothing Is Permanent graffito yet, on the post office at Irving Park and Southport.

Check out this GQ motherfucker who just showed up one day in Streeterville.

Also, FYI, Lucifer comes from Iowa. (That car was parked in front of my building. Nervous? Me?)

There is nothing like stepping out of the El station, turning around to walk to work, and coming face to face with this billboard.

Clouds on the horizon, risin' off the lake yesterday morning. That's taken from the corner near my apartment building.
