( It's not that Tony is pissed Clint and Thor got Steve drunk... )

So, I am off in a bit to get into a van with my coworkers and spend a couple of hours driving to the retreat. It should be pretty good, actually; we're all nerds of various kinds, so I'm planning to ask my podmate, who I believe is bringing old Fourth Doctor episodes to watch on her laptop, if we can sit together so she can do that and I can curl up and read comic books on my tablet. I hope Awkward Coworker brought a book, for his own sake.

I swear to god this comic book thing is a phase, it'll pass, and I'm already gearing up to work on Exquisite. I don't know why I'm even saying this except I always feel so guilty when I get into a new fandom.

The one nice thing about Avengers is that because there are so many canons for it, stretching back to the sixties and including at least two film franchises, you can basically pastiche together whatever you want and call it good; it's all archetypes. And it means I don't have to think too hard about what happened in Siege, because oh my god, Siege, fuck you in the ear with how little I care about Asgard. (More on this in a week or two; I do have a few "Let's discuss comic books" features to share with you, but before we get to "Why Sam loathes Siege" I have a presentation on Professor X's pants.)

Um, so with all that as preamble, have some fanfic.
