This morning I'm researching a potential donor who attended her 40th wedding anniversary (a sixties themed party) dressed like a Playboy Bunny. And totally made it work, I must say; the camera loves her.

Speaking of invasion of privacy...

This morning my boss wanted me to call our credit card company and get something cleared up with her corporate card, so I called and gave them her credit card number and the last four digits of her social security number, but I'm not listed as a proxy, so she had to call.

I joked with my coworkers that I'd call back and speak in a falsetto but I was worried they'd ask me her birthdate or address, and one of them yelled across the office "That stuff's in the database! There is no privacy here!"

It's too true.

As it turns out, SUSPICIOUS CIRCUMSTANCE: Yesterday we bought an $800 database subscription on her card. Three hours later, someone fraudulently used her card to buy $600 worth of merchandise from a Walmart in Texas. I will be contacting that database this morning with my "What The Fuck" face on.

Closing on a quickie emergency Cafe signal boost: [livejournal.com profile] polaris_starz is scrambling to find a roommate in Cambridge, MA after one of theirs bailed; they have a very short window of time in which to find someone.
Man, reading comic books is like following politics. It looks pretty clean cut on the surface but the minute you actually start reading, it's a giant fucking mess.

I had high hopes for the Ultimates but you guys who warned me were right. The Ultimates in themselves have a nice tidy coherent storyline UNTIL YOU READ THE REST OF THE ULTIMATE SERIES and then it's all death and Tony Stark's evil twin brother.

I wish I was kidding. (Okay actually Greg Stark is kind of awesome until he ends up being evil.)

Anyway, speaking of things that can bite me, new Wordpress post: You Must Stop Wooing Monsters, which is basically one more rant about Amazon.

Hey, I stick with what I'm good at.
