Good morning all! It's time for Radio Free Monday!

Ways To Give:

[livejournal.com profile] bluejeans07 let me know that Renae De Liz, the woman in charge of Womanthology (the amazing, awesome anthology of woman comic book artists and writers) is in Critical Care recovering from a kidney infection and pneumonia. She doesn't have health insurance and doesn't qualify for assistance, so the comics community is passing the hat to help pay for her hospital bills. There's also information at the post if you want to send cards or flowers, and I'll keep you guys updated via RFM about a possible auction for assistance in the future.

Alex and [livejournal.com profile] tuppenneyrice both linked me to [livejournal.com profile] snowcoma's request for financial help to bury her father and dispose of the bio-hazardous bed he died in.

[livejournal.com profile] kaytee4ever recently lost her job and is in danger of having her car repossessed. Because she uses a wheelchair, losing her car will make it very difficult for her to get to interviews. She is offering custom art to help raise funds for her car payments.

Starlady linked me to [personal profile] kuwdora, a vidder who is soliciting donations to suppliment her grant to go to AdaCamp DC, an unconference for women in open source, technology, and culture.

Rose linked me to a kickstarter for Makey Makey, "An Invention Kit For Everyone" which looks pretty awesome.

Give For Free:

I've been mentioning the One Million Moms protest of DC and Marvel's gay characters, and suggesting people who support queer visibility in the media write in to say so, to balance out the protests. [livejournal.com profile] elf_amazon linked to a Tumblr with information on several ways to let them know you support queer characters in comics.

News To Know:

[livejournal.com profile] chengiz linked me to Abe Ape's apology to Indigenous Australia, a performed poem about coming to Australia as a refugee and his feelings about the treatment of Indigenous Australians by himself as well as others.

Just For Fun:

[livejournal.com profile] madripoor_rose linked to Downton Arby's. OH YES.

Yea these many years ago, I made a post about Christmas Vocabulary Ornaments. [personal profile] justice_turtle just used one of the templates to make the most fabuous banner ever.

[livejournal.com profile] spatz linked me to an awesome George Bernard Shaw letter about dressing for the opera, at an equally awesome epistolary site.

I haven't actually tried out this app, but [livejournal.com profile] dorkabunny linked me to Stix, an app where you can add sticker-style images to photos you take on your iPhone.

And this has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. You can always post items for my attention in comments here (or on any post) or email me at copperbadge at gmail dot com. If you're not sure how to proceed, here is a little more about what I do and how you can help (or ask for help!). Remember, brevity is the soul of RFM.
I have been having bizarro dreams, you guys.

I mean, people have weird dreams when they take naps, right? That's like a thing. And I've been napping a lot, which admittedly kind of screwed up my body clock, but I'm moving past it. I just keep having these dreams that are all vaguely similar, and involve two out of these three elements (but always two and only ever two):

1. Having to leave somewhere or move from somewhere hastily, and thus having to select what is most useful/vital from my belongings;
2. Having possibly lost something or left something behind somewhere of great value, but being unable to ascertain whether or not I actually did;
3. Having to rescue between two and forty small children who are not good at following orders.

And they're not nightmares, I'm not afraid or particularly stressed in the dream, but I wake up feeling like I've been beaten with sticks.

WHAT GIVES, SUBCONSCIOUS. It's not like I've experienced a loss recently or I'm thinking of moving or something is frustrating me. I mean, things are always frustrating me, but nothing over and above.

Nobody give me anything valuable! Apparently I might lose it.

I am making ice cream! And fanfic!

They are both vanilla.

The ice cream requires five egg yolks. The fanfic is in five parts. COINCIDENCE? ALMOST DEFINITELY SO.
