ALL I AM DOING THIS MORNING IS FAILING TO SCHEDULE CORRECTLY.

I'm in very near peril of having my Time Lord licence taken away. God dammit I can't be expected to differentiate between August 30th and September 30th.

On the other hand, I just finished the last of some research for a thing with some stuff, and it has occurred to me anew how awesome my job is. I just did a biography of the highest-paid CEO in [country redacted]. His employees say, and I can't tell if this is with irony or fear or sincerity because it was in print in a foreign language, "He's not a man. He's a god."

Also, I now know more about the import of Australian wine into China than I ever expected. Australian wine and Weetabix. Probably not together.

A lot of people are worried about China's economic growth and what it means for the Western world, but so far it seems like they just want a decent Shiraz.
Oh man, you guys, this is the best thing I have seen all week.

So, Mark Oshiro of Markdoesstuff.com is known around the internet for, essentially, commenting on fannish stuff. He reads books and watches TV and talks about it in fun and engaging ways. And apparently, though I did not know this, you can commission him to read things like fanfic, aloud, on youtube.

A reader of his named Raquel, in what I can only think was a massively funny prank -- and thank you, Raquel, it was worth every penny -- commissioned him to read Trying To Communicate, my infamous Torchwood/LOLcat crossover. It's easily the most well-known story I ever wrote, which is hilarious because it's absurd and I wrote it on the El home one afternoon.

Mark went in unspoiled, and while you can watch the whole thing (here) it's funnier if you skip to about four minutes in (here) and watch as he figures out what he's reading.

Make sure you watch through to "Who THINKS of this?"

I do, Mark. I do.

I just sat there at my desk at work, trying to suppress my laughter, for the better part of ten minutes. He was a trooper, too. He read through the whole thing, LOLcat voice and all.

He was also commissioned by Mo -- and thank you Mo, as well -- to read some of Stealing Harry, which you can find in two parts here and here. I think it's worth the watch, but then it's my ego that's getting burnished by it. :D

I'm rummaging around on his site trying to find a way to contact him that doesn't involve posting on a forum and bothering other people, but I want to let him know that I write non-fannish fiction as well, and offer him an advanced reader copy. (Though seeing his media list, I'm not getting my hopes too high...)

Anyway. LOLs to be had by all.
