Sep. 16th, 2012 03:12 pmI've been rewatching House Of Cards this afternoon, while cooking for the week.
House of Cards is a great miniseries the BBC made in 1990, adapted from a book I've not read (I suspect it would ruin the miniseries for me). It concerns the Macbeth-like rise to power of an ultraconservative politician who is denied career advancement under the current administration and so decides to make his way to Prime Minister by morally and in some cases physically destroying everyone in his way.
He's absolutely loathsome and if he were real I'd be dead against him and all he stands for, but sometimes it's just fun to watch someone be so completely evil with such utter competence. Even if he's the bad guy, it's good to see someone win.
