Here's the fifth installment of a full scene from The City War, my new novella from Riptide Press!

And he did like it, then and now. He liked the salty warmth of his skin, the thickness of Cassius’s cock in his mouth, and the way he cried out high and soft, one hand curling around the back of Brutus’s neck. His fingernails dug in slightly and Brutus jerked, swallowing convulsively, the motion making Cassius twitch in an aborted thrust. Brutus squeezed his thigh, a warning not to be too rough. He tilted his head for a different angle, and Cassius groaned.

“You’re so good,” he mumbled, head tilting back, the clean line of his jaw sharp in the darkness. “I miss you so much when we’re apart. I think of you when I’m with Junia, I think of you when I’m alone—fuck, Marcus . . .”

Brutus lifted his head, letting Cassius’s slick cock fall from his mouth, letting it lie hard and dark against his belly.

Do you want it? )
So, I am a creature of habit, primarily because habit frees up the brain -- the more habits you have, the less thinking you have to do about boring stuff like showers and what shoes to wear and what to take for lunch. I'm sure they've done studies on this but I can't be arsed to link you to them.

Anyway, my computer at work is on all week, and then on Fridays I back up the desktop, shut it down, and let it rest over the weekend. Which is only fair, since that's what I do to myself, too.

But this means Firefox is open all week, and I can generally look at the tabs that are open in the morning and discern my mental state from the previous afternoon. Apparently yesterday I was crazy. I don't even remember opening some of those tabs. Why did I leave open the tab with my AO3 profile? Why did I have google open? Mysteries we may never answer.

I do have reccs for the week though. One old and two new:

Not Quite Method by autoschediastic -- I don't often read RPS but come on. Robert Downey Jr/Tony Stark. How am I supposed to walk away from that madness? (It's short but very well-written.) Mature.

Alula [Vertical and Forward Force] by micketysplit -- Loki decides Clint deserves some wings. For his sins, apparently. Entertaining, bickery, fun to read, with the exact twist I was hoping for as regards the wings. Mature, Clint/Coulson.

Catch Your Voice by Lavvyan -- Clint's spent a long time talking on comms with Coulson but has never actually seen him. An interesting take on the relationship between assets and handlers in general, as well as on the Clint-Coulson relationship in particular. Plus a hint of identity porn, which I love. Teen and Up, Clint/Coulson.
