Feb. 1st, 2013 11:20 amBOY DO I HAVE SOME LINKS FOR YOU GUYS.
I've been trying to blog more regularly over at Wordpress, Tuesdays and Fridays, which was aided a great deal recently by a three-part series I did on writing YA fiction.
Part I: How Do You Solve A Problem Like Everyone Under The Age Of 22
Part II: Failing At Wikipedia Or, It's YA Because It's YA
Part III: An Author In Search Of A Novel
In addition, I have some one-off articles up at Wordpress:
God Needs A New Agent, about religion in literature
Here's Your Problem, Here's Your Book, about literary agony aunts
and One More Story I May Never Write, about the possibilities inherent in minting one's own money
ALSO, the Tony Throwdown has ended! The reveals have been made:
Historymiss wrote Hey, Hey (You, You) and Equivalent Exchange.
I wrote See You In Homeroom and The Tongues of Men and Angels (which apparently most people nailed as mine by TITLE ALONE).
My hat is off to Historymiss, a most worthy opponent! I may have won the throwdown but I feel with four new excellent fanfics out there, really everyone won.
AND THEN THERE ARE SOME RECCS. Mostly Avengers, with some pure Hawkeye in there to spice it up.
Night at the City Museum by Frea_O: Teen and Up, Gen. This was linked to me after my recent trip to the City Museum in St. Louis, and will probably not be all that comprehensible to those who haven't been there. But it's a fun romp through the museum with the Avengers, and it's worth it for Natasha's awesome and hilarious internal and external narration.
turn up the world's worst makeout song by yugimutos: Teen and Up, Clint/Kate. Clint and Kate compare makeout songs and enjoy cassette tape recordings. I just think it's sweet, and I especially like stories where Kate can hold her own against Clint's....personality.
The (Not Really) Secret Origins of Movie Night by nightwalker: PG-13, Tony/Steve. Steve is trying to build a team and Tony seems game but never really becomes part of things, so Steve takes extra measures. It's a bit about building relationships and a bit about Steve finally feeling at home in the 21st century, and I really enjoyed reading Steve's campaign of touchy-feely. :D
A Libertine in the Electronic Age by MidKnight2501: Explicit, Tony/Pepper, Tony/Jarvis, Tony/Pepper/Jarvis. I have to admit this is a favourite of mine from before I was even IN the fandom, and it just turned up on AO3 and reminded me of that. Tony's with Pepper, happily with Pepper, which is why he has an extremely entertaining freakout when he finds a naked man in his workshop one morning. Turns out JARVIS built himself a body because why not, and then there is supremely hot threesome sex with Pepper and JARVIS's new body.
