Good morning everyone, and welcome to Radio Free Monday!

Ways To Give:

Anon linked to For Addison, With Love, a fundraiser to help with medical bills and funeral expenses for Addison Begin, who was born on September 4th and passed away on September 9th.

Twirlytumblefluff on Tumblr is selling some fantastic and weird merch to raise money to help with vet bills for her roommate's cat. There's a bunch of books, including a ton of Terry Pratchett stuff, and a pair of swanky Steampunk headphones. Here's the ebay page!

Help For Free:

[livejournal.com profile] jonaht linked to a campaign for votes by quint_rahaman on Instagram -- the more votes and comments they get, the better their chances to win what amounts to free office space for a year. The project appears to be geared towards providing business resources for dancers; you can view the video here, and vote/comment if you have an instagram account.

Thyrza on tumblr linked to fanworkatdc, a group of people working to set up a fanworks track at Dragon*Con next year. They're trying to get the word out and would love for people to support or reblog their efforts!

Just For Fun:

[personal profile] onebrightroad linked to a fantastic blog post about book design, including some interesting ruminations on ebook layout.

And this has been Radio Free Monday! Thank you for your time. You can always post items for my attention in comments here (or on any post) or email me at copperbadge at gmail dot com. If you're not sure how to proceed, here is a little more about what I do and how you can help (or ask for help!).
I'm trying to decide whether something good just happened or whether the cough medicine is giving me FALSE HOPE.

I had my yearly evaluation with my boss today, in which she kindly did not bring up my massive failures of recent months and instead talked about taking me off administrative duties and moving me more into actual project management -- having projects that are mine that I manage. Which is not necessarily the ultimate goal but it's a good step towards. The problem is that at the moment there are a lot of things she wants me to do that I really do not have time for, between processing payments, keeping the budget, wiping noses, etc. Also my habit of reading the entire internet and being in fandom, but shhh. Shh.

I would definitely like to move off some of the gritty admin stuff I'm doing now, but I have zero confidence in people being able to do it for themselves, given some of it I can hardly do. Our budget reconciliation program is byzantine to say the least, and the rules aren't actually available anywhere except the hard drive of the finance manager, who lives in an alternate universe where it's still 1960. Or maybe he's still holding a grudge from a year and a half ago when he tried to get me in trouble with a manager and got in trouble with his manager instead.

I favour anything that allows me to focus more on less work, but let's face it, that's mainly because I have no focus left for fanfic anymore.

Stupid growing up. I'm tired of growing up. :P
